How to Prepare for BBL Surgery in St. Louis, MO

Women turn to Brazilian Butt Lift surgery to significantly increase the volume and shape of their buttocks using fat as a natural augmenting material. This procedure transforms your physique by providing an hourglass figure with a narrow waist and shapely hips and buttocks.

Why Should I Choose Highly Experienced BBL Surgeon Dr. Porshinsky?

Dr. Brian Porshinsky is a board-certified plastic surgeon who spent 2022 in Miami learning the most advanced and safe Brazilian Butt Lift techniques. He has performed hundreds and hundreds of Brazilian Butt Lift surgeries with a 100% safety record.

Dr. Porshinsky focuses on achieving the volume that women want with their BBLs. He uses lipo 360 to remove a large volume of fat from the circumference of the torso, including the abdomen, waist, and back. This fat is injected into the buttocks, hips, and lateral thighs.

Candidacy for Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian Butt Lift candidacy relies primarily on your weight and fat stores. Because the Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat grafting procedure, you must have enough fat in the donor sites to remove.

Be at an Appropriate Weight

Very thin patients who desire a fuller and more defined derrière may be asked to gain some weight before their surgery so that there is more fat to harvest from the donor sites. Alternatively, patients with a BMI of 34 or higher should lose weight before their BBL.

Before Your Brazilian Butt Lift

The following tips will help you prepare for your Brazilian Butt Lift with Dr. Porshinsky.

Avoid Aspirin, Herbal Remedies, and NSAIDs

Patients who take certain blood-thinning medications and supplements, including aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDs, and some herbal remedies, will be asked to avoid these for two weeks before their Brazilian Butt Lift.

These can make you more likely to bleed after the procedure.

Stop Smoking

Patients must stop all nicotine and tobacco use for at least six weeks before their Brazilian Butt Lift. This includes cigarettes, vape pens, and nicotine replacement aids.

Smoking decreases blood flow and puts you at a higher risk of complications during and after your surgical procedure. Patients who smoke should also refrain from the habit for at least two weeks after their surgery.

Do Not Consume Alcohol

Drinking alcohol right before surgery also increases your risk of complications during and after your BBL. Alcohol interferes with blood clotting and can result in negative interactions with the anesthesia.

Fill All Prescription Medications

Most Brazilian Butt Lift patients find it beneficial to fill all prescriptions before their operation so that they do not have to think about it afterward. Planning ahead helps start your recovery on the right track.

You also want to be familiar with the proper dosages and only take these as instructed. Alternatively, some patients choose to rely on over-the-counter pain medications like TYLENOL®. You will still want to avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin.

Prepare a Recovery Space

You will experience downtime during your initial Brazilian Butt Lift recovery period. Preparing your recovery space with everything you might need during this time is essential. Make sure you have easy access to pillows, blankets, healthy foods and drinks, and entertainment options.

You will be asked to avoid sitting or laying on your back and butt during your Brazilian Butt Lift recovery. It is important to prepare yourself for this mentally and physically.

Dr. Porshinsky recommends a booty pillow for sitting without applying pressure to the grafted fat cells.

We recommend getting a good night’s sleep the night before your BBL.
